Gamma Tau History: Formation and Installation in 1956 The following excerpts were taken from our DG scrapbook from articles printed in the Fort Worth Star‑Telegram and the Fort Worth Press.
Dated Feb. 22, 1956: "Fort Worth Delta Gamma Alumnae hosted a buffet dinner at the home of Lee Etta Hedberg honoring four national officers and 11 pledges to the new colony at TCU. Officers have been in Fort Worth all week assisting in the formation of the new colony which will be formally pledged Feb. 29, 1956 by Alpha Upsilon chapter (SMU)."
Founder's Day, March 22, 1956 Mrs. Daniel C. Hay, National First Vice President of Delta Gamma was the speaker at Founders Day held at Cross Keyes. Mrs. M. R. Runnion, Fort Worth Alumnae president introduced members of the new Gamma Tau Colony:

The TCU chapter also includes two active members:
Pat Marshall a transfer from the U. of Arkansas Carol Ann Loop of Midland, transfer from Texas Tech
"The formal installation of Gamma Tau, the 84th chapter, was held Sept. 28‑30, 1956. Festivities included a dinner Friday night at River Crest Country Club. Patroness initiation was Saturday morning at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church. Banquet Saturday night at River Crest Country Club. On Sunday morning the national officers conducted a model meeting and then all attended services at University Christian Church. Sunday afternoon a reception honored new initiates and pledges."
