-
A
legacy is a daughter, granddaughter or sister of a DG member.
-
Some chapters also have expanded that definition to include stepdaughters
and stepsisters as well.
-
As
time and our membership expands, our collegiate chapters have a greater
number of legacies participating in recruitment process.
-
DG
tries to ensure that legacies receive every possible courtesy in the
recruitment process.
-
All legacies are invited to a minimum of one invitational event.
-
It
is very important that a DG sponsor form be sent to the collegiate chapter
where the potential member will be attending school. Mothers,
grandmothers and sisters should complete the Sponsor Form on their
legacy.
-
Collegiate chapters are instructed to give each legacy very special
consideration.
-
Ultimately it is the responsibility of the collegiate chapter to determine
which candidates will be invited for membership in their chapter.
-
It
is the responsibility of the Delta Gamma who has a legacy to make sure that
area DGs have met her legacy.
-
It
is the responsibility of the DG to make sure that her local DG chapter knows
that she has a legacy. All alumnae groups should be notified of legacies by
the time they enter high school.
-
Delta Gammas should not wait until the summer before the legacy is to
enter recruitment to let a DG alumnae group know that she has a legacy that
will go through recruitment.
-
Delta Gammas should talk with their legacy about giving DG special respect
and consideration.
