Crissa Renteria Fort Worth DG recentlyplaced first in the Benbrook Triathlon. Marilyn Komechak Fort Worth DG and her daughter recently teamed up with a new book "Painted Poems: Interior Scapes." Her daugher's abstract painting echo Marilyn's poems. The August Fort Worth DG Newsletter is now posted on this website under Newsletters in PDF form so out of town DGs can read it. Margaret Jenson, GT 04 is living in Houston. She is a RN at St Luke's Medical Center. Cheryl Renteria has returned from an extended trip to Arizona where she took her mother to visit her granddaughter! Heather Manson Mattson Gamma Tau alum gave birth to a baby girl, Julia who weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 19" long. Brothers John (51/2) and Sam (3) and sister Sophie (2) are in love with their new baby sister! Elizabeth Stablein Pierce and husband moved to Myrtle Beach in May and are loving the nice warm weather and beaches. She would love to have visitors! Molly Nelson and husband had a baby boy, Tobin Jax Nelson born on September 9th at 10:03 pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds and was 19 inches long. Elizabeth Campbell, Fort Worth DG reports that she has a new Seeing Eye dog, a wonderful Golden retriever yellow lab mix named Gabe. Gabe is a very playful guy, weighing 60 pounds! Tracy Brandon Tucker, GT 1990 is now the Assistant Dean of Campus Life at TCU.

Gamma Tau/TCU had a fantastic recruitment and made quota! Quota was 44 and GT took 48. All DG collegiate chapters in our region had numbers larger than quota so everyone had GREAT recruitments!
Kat Pompa, GT/Fort Worth alum and husband are expecting their second baby which is due in February. Daughter Ashley just turned 8 months old. Erin Chandler is living in Austin and has moved to Dangerbird Records. Nina Catanzaro Stewart, GT '00 had a baby boy, Camden Michael Stewart on June 2nd. He weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces. See Picture Kathryn Murphy, past GT president has moved back to Fort Worth to attend Wesleyan Law School. Meghan Poydock, GT 08 graduate is working for NM Online. She is living in FTW but will be moving. Krista Richardson, GT has recently moved from Tyler where she worked for UT/Tyler and will be new Associate Director of the Alcon Career Center at the TCU Business School in the Career Services at TCU. Marilyn Komecchak Gilbert, Fort Worth alum, has been selected for the 2009 edition of Who's Who in America. She and her daughter are collaborating on a "Painted Poems" presentation. Macy Hill, GT/FTW DG had a baby boy Charles (Charlie) Thompson Hill on August 28th. He weighed 6 lb 15 oz and was 19 inches long. See Picture

The Gamma Tau 66-67 pledge class had a special reunion July 25-28 at Pikes' Peak. This group has had reunions every year since 1971! Every other year they meet at TCU and the other years they meet at different destinations. This year they are meeting to celebrate their 60th birthdays together. These Gamma Taus certainly know how to have fun and they really know that the meaning of sisterhood is keeping up with your sisters for a lifetime! They urge other GT pledge classes to do the same. Stay tuned for pictures of their reunion for this fun event! Group Picture Claire Blanshard Webb, Fort Worth alum had twin boys on June 29th. Henry Robert weighed 5 lb 15 oz and was 17 inches long. Thomas Conrad weighed 5 lbs 4 oz and was 18 inches long. Big brother, Jack is very excited to have two brothers coming to live at his house! Wendy Olney, Fort Worth alum is attending graduate school this summer. Sarah Heath, Fort Worth DG recently graduated from Texas A&M and is back in Fort Worth working as a Pediatric Oncology nurse at Cook Children's Hospital. Her sister Allison Heath Cobb is also living in Fort Worth and is helping with the young alum events. JJ Williams, GT/ Fort Worth alum is busy working in the family business. She is in Marketing & Advertising for Roger Williams Auto Mall.

Tracy Kelley and husband Koy announce the birth of their daughter, Kate Reagan who was born on May 31 and weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. See Picture Clara Jo Broyles, Fort Worth DG, is very excited about her granddaughter giving birth to a baby girl, Josie Elizabeth, who was 8 lbs and born on May 21st. Josie was named for Clara Jo's mother, Josie Minyard. Great grandmother Clara Jo has not come back down to earth yet! It is the first baby in her family for over 17 years! Get Well to Amy Shackelford who is in the hospital for the second time in several weeks. Peggy Lewis and Lisa Ford, both of Fort Worth are proud of son and brother Gary Lewis who was recently honored at the Business News as Top 40 under 40. See Picture Nikki Elledge, GT just finished her M.S. degree in Communication Studies at TCU. She is now teaching courses at Lone Star College-Kingswood for the summer. She will be getting married in October and will live in Hawaii where her husband will be stationed at Pearl Harbor. Olivia Cosby, Fort Worth Trinity Valley School graduate and graduate of LSU will be moving to Washington DC. She will be starting as a Program Associate with Meridian International Center helping Program Officers facilitate and organize international visitors coming to the US through the US Department of State. Kristen McAlister Velez, GT is now an officer in the Army. She is a 1LT in the Army Nurse Corps an working in Medical and Pediatric ICU at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in DC. She is expecting her first baby in December. Christa Mehard Dam will relocate from Colorado to Chicago in September. Rob will begin a PhD program in finance at Northwestern in the fall and we'll live there for the next 3 years as he completes that program. She will continue in her capacity as Campaign Director for the Nature Conservancy's Campaign for a Sustainable Planet working from her home office. In the meantime, they will be playing this summer in the Rockies based out of Dillon, Colorado. Candace Stovall, has moved to Colleyville with her husband. Meredith Main, GT has moved into a new home in Dallas area. Lauren Syler, GT is living in Dallas where she recently bought a home. She is an attorney. Shalene Roberts and husband announce the birth of their first child, Bruce Lauren Roberts III (Trey) who was born on March 11th and weighed in at 9 lbs, 21 inches. See Picture Nicky Zimmer is married and living in San Antonio where she works in a doctor's office. Her sister Susy and husband will hopefully be moving back to Texas next year when he finishes up his medical fellowship. They will most likely live in Austin or Dallas areas. Mom Carol will be vacationing in Destin this summer! Connie Lyons, GT 81 is newly appointed DG Regional 3 Alumnae Specialist for Delta Gamma. She serves alumnae groups in Florida and South Carolina. Carissa Davis Story is moving from Fort Worth to Austin. We will miss you Carissa! Heather Bennett Weber has a little boy, Jackson who is 9 months old. They live in Arizona. See Picture, Sister Holly Bennett Dobson lives in Austin. Vicki Logan Heckman is living in Fort Wayne, IN and has a 3 year old son, Carson and a 22 month old daughter, Caitlyn.

Jennifer Harris Tiedt recently raised $18,000 in honor of her mother who is fighting ovarian cancer for the MD Anderson Sprint for Life. Kat Pompa is working part-time at Baylor and JPS as a Nurse Anesthetist. Her little girl Ashley Elizabeth is now 5 months old. See Picture Natalie Ford, daughter of Lisa Ford and granddaughter of Peggy Lewis was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society at Wayside Middle School. She also plays volleyball and basketball for her school. Vaune Williams, GT had a baby boy on May 6th. His name is Luke Richard Wolters and he weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz. Welcome to recent Beta Eta UT grad, Samantha Dallefeld who is starting TCOM Medical School in Fort Worth this fall. Heather Owen Singleton- Had a baby boy on May 5th. His name is Zane Owen Singleton. He weighed 5 lbs 11 ozs and was 18 1/4 inches long. He joins big brother Carter. They are now living in Austin.

Brittany Askew recent GT graduate is now working at Lombardo Custom Apparel in Dallas. She is a wardrobe consultant. Amy Shackelford is serving as head of training for Fort Worth Junior League. Adrienne Gaviglio Grant had a baby girl, Grayson Ruth on April18th.She weighed in at 8.5 pounds and was 20" long. See Picture Kimberly Oakley McElreath, GT living in Missouri City launched her photography business in the Houston area in December. New members of the FWJL are Christian Brooks & Allison Heath-Cobb Diane Turner was recently recognized at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association convention. She received a special proclamation for her many years of teaching and making a difference in collegiate journalism education. She also received a plaque from the Texas Community College Journalism Association for her 40 years of college teaching. In May Diane will officially retire! The Gamma Tau House Corporation has been redecorating the Gamma Tau house. Summer 2007 brought new paint and new furniture. The entry was re-done also. Summer 2008 will bring beautiful new wood floors for the chapter room which will be awesome!! The chapter also has a new TV and new computer projector with the screen coming down from ceiling. We have nearly depleted our funds and would love for all Gamma Tau alumnae to help the Gamma Tau House Corporation by making a donation to help us continue with our redecorating project. If you can help Gamma Tau please email Bunny and she can give you specific information. Gamma Tau and Fort Worth alums cannot do it alone! We need for all Gamma Tau's to remember it is their responsibility to keep their chapter strong and we all know that having a top house on campus is very important. Any money amount will be appreciated!
Belated condolences to Cynthia Carson and Carol Alford on the loss of their father in the fall. Ivy Totta-Ellis, GT 1998-2002, married to Quinten Ellis, former tightend for the Horned frogs (1998-2002), just gave birth to Drew Harrison Ellis, 12-23-2007. He weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21 in. Everyone is doing great! Quinten is in medical sales for Biomet Texas and Ivy is finishing up her last year, for a while, as a 2nd grade teacher in Everman. See Picture

Amy Hall Shackelford had a baby boy on February 12th at 5:14. His name is Dalton Gray and he weighed in at 6 lbs and was 18 1/2 inches long. He joins big brother Grayson who is 2 1/2. Bunny Shackelford is proud grandmom! See Picture Meredith Huckabee Warnock, GT, and husband have moved from San Antonio to Smyrna Georgia where he will head up PR for AT&T. They moved into their new home around the first of the month.

Special sympathy on the loss of our DG sister Jane Eason Edwards, who has been a long time Fort Worth DG alumnae. She will be greatly missed by many DGs. Our thoughts go to her friends and family.
Sheri Lloyd is a new grandmother of Billy Allen (B.A.)who was born January 1st. He was not due until March and weighed in at 3.3 pounds and was 15 inches long. He is holding his own and as of January 22nd is doing very well for a preemie. Please continue to keep Sheri and her family in your thoughts. Bunny Shackelford's little granddaughter Lainey who is 3 months old has been in Dallas Children's ICU unit with an infection. She left ICU on January 23nd to a regular hospital floor and was released a few days later. Special sympathy to Fort Worth alumna Cuba Webb who lost her husband Ted in January. Kara Wilson Kosycarz, GT 01 and her sister Elissa Winder, GT 00 welcomed home Kara's husband, Capt. Art Kosycarz, from Iraq On January 23rd, 2008 at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene. Please see this wonderful picture! See Picture Charlotte Pierce's husband had knee surgery in January. Ginny Hinton was married on January 12th in Austin Texas. She will live in Portland Maine, Susie Faires is recovering from a tonsillectomy. If you are in Inscriptions please look her up as she is working there. Laura Quenette, GT is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Harris Methodist Health Foundation. She serves on the Boards of Leadership Fort Worth, Leadership Texas and The Fort Worth Junior League. Elizabeth Stablein Pierce, GT, lives in Boston and went on a 9 day cruise over the holidays. Reese Small is the Vice President of Development & Marketing for Safe Haven in Fort Worth. Peg Hanson, Fort Worth DG, reports that her grandson married a DG! They live in Nebraska where she is a teacher. Dr. Barbara Chowning, Fort Worth is now consulting in education for the Sate of Texas. Darcy Bass, GT will be moving from Austin to Houston in January. She has served on the UT DG advisory team and House Corporation Boards for the last 6 years. Courtney Snyder Sheffert, GT had a baby boy named Tanner on August 1st, 2008 in Minneapolis. They were married at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Laura Stegall, Jana Dunkerly Brooks, Jennifer Hovis O'Neill and Tonya Moffat Ramsey recently took a DG/GT girls weekend to Jamaica! Laura and Jane live in Fort Worth and Tonya is in Dallas.

Gamma Tau Deaths: It is with sadness that we report that Amy Viola Enters, GT 86 passed away in November leaving behind her husband Menno and three precious little boys ages 7,6 and 3. Amy gave a long fight against cancer with the help of many DGs who traveled regularly to help her. Her first memorial service was on Nov 30th at her home in Lake Zurich IL. Her second service was held in Houston TX on December 8th, 2007 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church at 10 AM. Amy's sister Polly Viola was also a Gamma Tau 85. Please keep this family and especially Amy's three little boys in your thoughts and prayers. DGs at Amy's memorial service were Lisa Aune Bost, Lizzy Jent Cronin, Laura Loy Capps, Darcy Martin Gagnon, Susan Ragan Steinhilber, Linda Lassiter Henry, Alethea Harrington and Bunny Shackelford. Penny Brown Blake, GT who was 50 passed away on November 23rd in Kansas City. She taught dance in the Physical Ed Department at Johnson County Community College. She fought a heroic battle against cancer and MS.

Bunny Shackelford has a new little granddaughter! Lainey Emerson was born 10/8/07 and weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She joins big brother Aidan. Jennifer and Jarrod live in Orange County, CA. See Picture Anna Phillips, GT 2004 was married on September 15th to Brian Schneider. They are living in Fort Worth. See Picture Kristen Summers Smith, GT 2000, has recently moved to Fort Worth where she is practicing law with Thompson & Knight. She attended law school at UT. Elise Hulings, Fort Worth DG was married in September and is now Elise Mederos. Lori AuneJacobi had twins on October 26th. David Andrew weighed in at 6 lbs and Leah Pearl weighed 5 lbs. Elissa Winder,GT is Fort Worth DGs Panhellenic representative and serves as a Scholarship Chairman for that organization. Laurie Hominick, Stephanie Miller and Amanda Walker, Gamma Taus 2002 are all living together in Fort Worth. Amanda might move to Dallas soon and Stephanie will apply to graduate school out of state and will move summer 2008.

Sara Beth Beesley, GT recently moved from NYC to Scottsdale. Charlotte Pierce's granddaughter is a new DG at Pepperdine. Adrienne Gaviglio Grant moved back to Fort Worth this August. Welcome back! Adrienne will also welcome her first baby around April 8th, 2008. It will be a girl! Allison Bradford, Fort Worth alum recently had her third baby, Eli Carrington on September 6th. Big sister Janie and big brother Jack are very excited with the new arrival. Haley Johnson, GT 2002 recently moved to Arlington but will move to Fort Worth soon. Welcome to Elizabeth Hill who was a member of the OU chapter. She graduated in 2005 and has moved to Fort Worth. Robyn Myers Huhn, GT 87 is living in St. Louis where she is serving as president of the alumnae chapter. Heather Callanan, GT was married in Jan 2007 at Rober Carr Chapel. DGs in the wedding were Carissa Davis Storey, GT and Cameron Salas, Zeta Eta. Heather and husband Ryan are moving to Minneapolis this month where they both work with the BNSF Railway. See Picture Heather Singleton, GT moved from Fort Worth to Austin in August. Nikki Elledge, GT will finish up her Master's degree in May and will be moving to Hawaii. She hopes to teach at a community college there. Welcome to Jennifer Williams Emerson who was a member of the A&M chapter. She recently moved to Fort Worth. Her sister is a DG at LSU. Diane Arnold Stamper, GT is teaching at Tarrant County Community College Northeast campus. Lindsey Dickson, GT is living in Austin and will marry Will Heron next May in Austin. They are building a "green home" in the Clarksville neighborhood in central Austin. She will also be a proud stepmother. See Picture Lauren Smith, GT was married to Wadie who is a UT graduate and they are living in Philadelphia. DGs Lindsey Dickson, Bonnie Basham Lance and Molly Hutchinson were in the wedding. Erica Grischow, GT 2002 was married May 5th to Eric Vance who is a FTW police officer. They live in the Fort Worth area. After the wedding they came home to their three darling dogs Dolce, Diesel and Dacey! Erica is a nurse at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Jill Grimsley Drewyor, GT and husband and daughter Margot are moving from Tulsa to Bentonville Arkansas. Jill will continue practicing law as will her husband Pine who will establish a new firm in Arkansas.

Gamma Tau Recruitment was a huge success! Quota was 45 and they took 49 precious girls. Word on campus is that our new members are the cutest ever!!! We will post pictures very soon so come back to our website in the next few weeks!!!
Mary Ann Loeffelholz, Fort Worth area DG is proud to report her niece is a new DG! Julie Davidson, Fort Worth DG is proud to announce her daughter Emily pledged at University of Arizona in August! Special thoughts go to Jennifer Harris Tiedt of Houston whose mother is fighting ovarian cancer. Jenny Walker, G Xi moved away from Fort Worth this summer. Jenny moved to Dallas to work as the Marketing and PR Manager at American Airlines Center. Erin Getting, GT recently married and moved to Coppell. DGs in the wedding were Sara Getting, Rachael Smiley Stringer, Crissa Renteria, Shannon Hienrich Orr, Danielle Moorman. She spent two weeks in Hawaii on honeymoon. She will be teaching French and Psychology at a new school this year. See Picture Sara Getting, has moved to Dallas from Chicago and will be with Dean Foods. Amy Keogh Tremper, GT 96 living in Dallas announces the birth of a daughter Tatum Elizabeth who was born June 3rd. Christa Mehard was married in August in Colorado Springs. Tara Blair was Matron of Honor and her boys were in the wedding also. Mary Bertolini is living in Denver where she is a professional triathlon coach. Kaitlyn Bloomquist was married in August in Houston. DGs Natalie Haas & Amy Klockgetter were both in the wedding. Reagan Rhodes, from Fort Worth and graduate of A&M and was in the Eta Gamma chapter is now attending nursing school. Leslie Gimber Bannister lives in Fort Worth and is expecting her third boy!

Diane Turner is recuperating from surgery and is doing well. She will be on-board for August recruitment!!! Stephanie Biesi, GT Advisory Team Chairman is recuperating from a broken ankle. Alethea Harrington's grandbaby recently turned one and also had surgery. He is doing great. He was able to travel to Boston for his aunt's Harvard graduation before the surgery and enjoy a family vacation with his parents, grandparents and aunt. Lynn Ranelle's son Brantley was married in Fort Worth in July complete with a beautiful fireworks show at the Colonial Country Club reception. Congratulations to Lynn! One of the bridesmaids at the wedding was Reagan Rath, Gamma Tau 2001 who now lives in San Antonio. Meredith Harrington, Beta Eta recently graduated with a Masters Degree from Harvard. She will begin Ph D studies at Harvard in the fall. Her family joined her for this special day then everyone headed to Newport for a family celebration. She spent part of her summer on a mission trip to Yemen. Charlotte Pierce, new Fort Worth DG Co-pres reports that her granddaughter will be attending Pepperdine in the fall. Harriet Moore is staying busy this summer teaching summer school and also going on lots of trips! Mary Alice Smith, Fort Worth has spent much of the summer in Lovington visiting her dad. She says she will see everyone in the fall. Lisa Lewis Ford is the Fort Worth Junior League Chairman for the rodeo committee this year. Bunny Shackelford reports that the Texas DG State Day was a huge success and that Fort Worth and Gamma Tau chapter and GT alumnae had more DGs attend than anyone else! The Gamma Tau chapter was the featured entertainment for the luncheon and everyone came away talking about how adorable the girls were! Bunny's grandsons also turned 4 and 2 this summer and she will have a third grandbaby in October. Emily Zahn Braly is working full time at Cooks and has gone back to graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. She was married to Scott in February 2006. Congratulations to Joy Sweeney, Fort Worth alumna whose daughter will be married in August. Danna Sides West, GT & Fort Worth alumna recently sent a birthday picture of her second little boy's 1st birthday party! See Picture Elizabeth Braun Rowzee, Gamma Tau 93 had a baby boy on April 10, 2007. Ryan Daniel Rowee weighed in at 9 lbs and 1 oz and was 21.5 inches long. Mel Lavender Hurst and husband who just moved here two years ago are the new owners of the Trolley Stop Cafe which is located in the new Historic Camp Bowie Mercantile Antique Mall. Please stop by and antique shop and try some of her wonderful food! Olivia Cosby who is from Fort Worth and recently graduated from LSU is teaching school in Chile for a year. Cheryl Renteria will be traveling again this fall to Carmel, Park City and Aspen. Sheri Lloyd and husband Billy recently took a cruise. Amy Viola Enters, GT 86- Please continue to keep Amy in your thoughts and prayers as she under goes clinical trials to treat her cancer. Special thoughts go to her husband and precious three boys ages 7, 6 & 2 1/2 also. Erin Chandler Adams and husband Chip have moved to Austin and will continuing working for Cornerstone/Tripwire/Fader music. Kristen McAlister Velez, Gamma Tau reports she is now married and living in Dallas. Sarah Meyer Sanford and Cindy Johnson Disque, GTs both live in south Texas and have new babies. Sarah had a baby girl Reese on June 2nd and Cindy had a baby boy on April 3rd. They are having a blast being new moms together! See Picture Michele Johannsen Langan , GT 1997 pledge class. She is working in Austin as a Pathologist's Assistant and has been married for 5 years. She and pledge sister Molly Surber-Dienna had babies on the same day in 2006. Malissa Perkins, Gamma Xi is living in Burleson and works for Devon Energy as a broker. She recently passed the bar exam. Five Fort Worth DGs recently got together for children's birthday party. Macy Hill, Molly Nelson, Amy Shackelford, Andrea McGaughey and Emy Hauser took time for a photo shot of them and some of the kids!
