Awards Sponsored by Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter

 

Region 6 Collegiate Award

 

Roseanne Milan Golden Anchor Award- is awarded to a Region 6 collegian, finishing her junior year, who exhibits superior qualities in the areas of chapter, campus and community contributions. She will also be selected on special honors received, GPA, and her ability to encourage and inspire others. This award is presented each year by the Region 6 Collegiate Team. Roseanne Milan, University of Tulsa '47, was a member of the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter where she was a recipient of the "Outstanding Alumnae Award". At a local level she played a major role in bringing DG to TCU and immediately served as Advisory Board Chairman. Roseanne Milan loved Delta Gamma and DG collegians. She served as Province Collegiate Chairman for three years at the former "Province XI" level for DG. She also served as a rush consultant in Province XI after completing her term as PCC. Roseanne died in 1969. This Region 6 award is given by the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter in  her memory because of her stellar dedication and commitment to DG. This award was first implemented in the early 70's.

 

Local Fort Worth Collegiate Awards

 

Kathy Hay Award- is presented to a graduating Gamma Tau senior with the highest grade point average. If there is more than one senior with the same GPA, then university and Gamma Tau activities will be used to identify the recipient of this award. This award is given in memory of Kathy Hay, a GT collegian who died in the fall of 1971. She was very active in the chapter and was an outstanding student with a 3.9 GPA. The Kathy Hay Award was implemented by Kathy Hay's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wallace S. Hay in her memory. The award is presented at Founders Day each spring. The award was implemented in 1972.

 

Evelyn Dennis Scholarship(s)- are presented to deserving GTs who excel academically and are very active in the Gamma Tau Chapter. The scholarship(s) are presented at Founders Day. These scholarships are awarded to the collegians specifically for help with payment of Gamma Tau dues. Click here for application

Local Fort Worth Alumnae Awards

 

Outstanding DG Fort Worth Alumnae Award- is awarded to the most outstanding alumnae member. This award is presented every Founders Day. This award was first implemented in 1955 by the Fort Worth Alumnae Board.

 

Betty Preston Bronze Keel Award- was first implemented by Bunny Shackelford and  the Fort Worth Alumnae Board in 1997 as a new award to recognize long time committed alumnae. It is to be presented to a Delta Gamma who has continued to be strongly committed to DG. It is not necessarily a Delta Gamma who has held an office or been at the forefront, but a DG that has played a continued supporting role in DG through out her life. This award is presented as needed and not considered to be a yearly award. It is presented at Founders Day. This award is a lasting tribute to the memory of Betty Preston who exhibited all of these qualities to the highest. Betty died in 1995.

 

Stellar Award- is given to honor a member of Fort Worth Alumnae that  is recognized for excellence in an area of commitment to DG. The Stellar Award is presented at Founders Day.

 

Anchor Man Award- is awarded to a man who has offered service or helpfulness to the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter.

 

Diane Turner Chapter Room

 

Diane Turner Chapter Room- The Gamma Tau Chapter Room was permanently named after Gamma Tau Diane Turner on November 13, 1999. Diane has been the mainstay of the Gamma Tau Chapter and has been the Recruitment Adviser for the Gamma Tau Chapter from 1965 to present.
